Nurturing Hope

Establishing a network of resource navigators and mentors through the Hometown Veteran Ambassador Program and interactive community outreach.

Why Veteran Ambassadors?

Introducing NW Veteran Resources and the Hometown Veteran Ambassador Program

There is a need for a more complete arena of help through resources that do more than just add confusion and another closed door. Contacts and Leaders of North West Veteran Resources took a journey through government resources and programs, advisory and task force committees, community non-profits, and round tables with veterans of all eras.  Sometimes the walls were very frustrating, the lack of awareness of the resources was discouraging while the blocked roads of communication and help threatened to be debilitating.   Then, the vision of a network of ambassadors with knowledge or desire to help the veterans seeking help or belonging gain navigation through community resources and outreach was formed.
Northwest Veteran Resources is an all volunteer organization developed by veterans for veterans and the community they call home.  It has expanded to community outreach organizations and businesses.  The mission is developing a seamless interactive support between community resources for awareness, navigation, and inclusion in the hometown atmosphere. The following links will provide basic background on programs and resources:

We have the belief that having everyone who is part of the team supporting each other through hometown resources providing services for the military veteran community can establish a path to community strength and healing for all involved.  Participants can experience results like:
  • Veterans becoming more aware of resources and concern for them;
  • If they choose, veterans will have the opportunity to provide their own outreach to the community;
  • Community resources will find strength through sharing the program loads with each other;
  • The complete community will become more aware of programs in support and strength;
  • Awareness, knowledge, and referrals of resources than can help can reduce the negative outcomes;
  • Veterans that have become familiar with the resources can become mentors for other veterans;
  • Families can make friends and find positive growth activities; and
  • Communities will be able to embrace their members in a hometown atmosphere.
